Following the murder of a mutual friend, aspiring con man Johnny Hooker teams up with old pro Henry Gondorff to take revenge on the ruthless crime boss responsible, Doyle Lonnegan. The duo set about implementing an elaborate scheme, one so crafty that Lonnegan won't even know he's been swindled. As their big con unfolds, however, things don't go according to plan, requiring some last-minute improvisation by the partners.

My Review
After watching The Sting, I realized why it is dubbed as one of the greatest films to come out of the 70s. From start to finish, the storyline was captivating. Watching the two, Johnny Hooker and Henry Gondorff, make their way through a course filled to the brim with obstacles, having to make all sorts of improvisations to complete their plan, was exceptionally amusing and majestic. And all of this couldn't have been done without the marvelous cast: Robert Redford, who plays a youthful and exuberant con man, along with A-lister Paul Newman. But, by far my favorite was Robert Shaw, who played the ruthless crime boss. Thus, in my opinion, one of the best parts of The Sting is the exceptional casting. I can now see why the movie won a total of 18 awards, within which was 7 Oscars. So, if you want to give some older movies a try, which I thoroughly recommend that you do, I say that you definitely give The Sting a chance.
