The last members of a dying Native American tribe, the Mohicans, Uncas, his father Chingachgook, and his adopted half-white brother Hawkeye live in peace alongside British colonists. But when the daughters of a British colonel are kidnapped by a traitorous scout, Hawkeye and Uncas must rescue them in the crossfire of a gruesome military conflict of which they wanted no part: the French and Indian War.

My Review
The Last of the Mohicans is a thrilling and fierce adventure movie, which serves as a combination of attention to historical detail, melodramatic emotion, and a tense depiction of the French and Indian War era. What made the wonderful movie even better was the soundtrack, that's highs and lows constantly kept the viewers on an emotional edge. Along with the magnificent soundtrack, was the mesmerizing cinematography. The scenery throughout the movie played perfectly with the time setting of the plot, lighting the story even more. Daniel Day-Lewis' bravery and simple love for fellow man makes for a great heartbeat to this tale of love, war, vengeance and death. However, though I did enjoy the romance aspects; the military battles had me the most stunned. In summary, The Last of the Mohicans has plenty of what one looks for in a movie: history, war, betrayal, friendship and love. I can see why it's many people's #1 movie! While movies of this type are not necessarily on the top of my list, I enjoyed it. And, I'm sure you would too.
