Defeated by the Losers' Club, Pennywise returns 27 years later to terrorize the town of Derry, Maine, once again. Now adults, the childhood friends have gone their separate ways. But when people start disappearing, Mike Hanlon calls the others home for one final stand. Damaged by scars from the past, the united Losers must conquer their deepest fears to destroy the evil clown, who is now more powerful than ever.
“But you know what they say about Derry. No one who dies here ever really dies.”
My Review
The sequel to a thrilling adaptation of Stephen King's breathtaking novel was nothing short of outstanding. The characters portrayed by the excelling cast members, such as James McAvoy and Jessica Chastain, were genuine. They managed to give one of the most renowned horror films of all time a heartfelt touch. Which, to be quite honest, made it much easier for me to watch (being the one to avoid horror as much as possible). The movie also had brilliant humor, which was mainly shown through Bill Hader's Richie, which just made the movie that much better. In my opinion, Chapter Two was a great ending to Chapter One, and I was quite surprised that I thoroughly enjoyed it, despite being terrified to my core. However, one thing the movie lacks is jump-scares and complete audience terror, so if you are one to love jump-scares, this movie may not be 100% up to your standards. However, it is still worth a watch!
